A Love Letter for When You Fall on your Face.

(and why it's bound to happen eventually)

Dear Brave One,

Have you gone a bit crazy yet? A little? A lot?

If not, hats off to you (but also, give it time, wink wink.)

The portals of divorce and breakup get us all at some point.

In a cosmically weird way, the space after divorce or breakup is like puberty for adults.

There’s awkwardness, feelings that don’t make sense, perhaps a bully or a group of mean girls with comments like daggers.

You might feel clumsy, you’ll stumble, there’s a whole lot of figuring out how life works, navigating who you are and how you want to show up, and all the while emotions (and likely hormones too) rage in the background.

Things happen that we are immensely proud of.

Other things happen, that we’d like to run far, far away from. Often these events go down with witnesses, innocent bystanders, or unfortunate victims of our own unravelling.

Because we all unravel in this portal. It’s part of the process.

If you’ve been there, you’re there now, or you suspect it’s on this way, today’s Phoenix Speaks brings loving words of understanding, explanation, and encouragement from someone who definitely has her own list of triumphant post-divorce defining moments, as well as a long list of memories I prefer to view whilst covering my mind’s eye with my hands.

In today’s Phoenix Speaks, you’ll hear:

  • Why screwing up (even royally) is not only inevitable, but a natural part of your growth.

  • How this period of intense Recalibration (and it’s resulting “fails”) works in your favor.

  • Why all of the Divorce Tips & Inner Work invitations in the world can’t save us from every of the challenges ahead (and why that’s actually a good thing)

  • How to live with yourself when you’ve really screwed up.

  • Some approaches to ease the awkwardness of this time of newness.

Listen in and enjoy the dramatic thunderstorm throughout (so apt you’d think I planned it). I hope you can feel the love and encouragement of someone who messed up a lot coming through.

Warmly,

Kimberly
